Trampolining Gold for Daniel Bradford

Daniel Bradford has won gold for LOGS at the 2018 British Schools Trampoline Finals.

The Year 9 student won the Under 14 Boys Elite category at the national competition after performing a testing routine that included a combination of double somersaults with twists.

Daniel, who has been practising complex routines since he was just six years old, trained five days a week at Uckfield’s Sky High Trampoline Gymnastics Academy in preparation for the final, having won both the Regional and Zonal round earlier this year.

More than 489 gymnasts from 90 teams and 160 schools took part in the event hosted in Newtownards with gymnasts from across the United Kingdom. South East schools Angmering, Bhasvic, Hailsham Community College, Sackville and Uckfield Community Technology College (UCTC) travelling to Northern Ireland to compete.

The results continue Daniel’s long-running streak of sporting success. In 2017, he won four medals at the Trampoline Tumbling & DMT English Championships.

Proud mum, Lynette Bradford said: “I’m thrilled to see how far Daniel has come – he worked really hard to get the gold and it’s so well deserved. We’re very grateful to his mentor and coach Gail Andrews for her support, and to LOGS for accommodating Daniel’s budding sports career.”

Head Coach, Stella Jackson, of Sky High said: “I was so proud of all our competitors for reaching the National Schools Finals, they all performed to the best of their abilities and the proof can be seen from the results. It is the icing on the cake that Daniel, Heidi and the UCTC Girls took home the coveted title of British Schools Champions, along with a very large trophy for their schools.”

Murray Heywood, Head of PE and Games at LOGS, added: “Daniel is an immensely talented gymnast so his continued success comes as no surprise. We’re really pleased that his hard work has paid off – it sets a great example for all our students and really shows what young people can achieve when they set their mind to it.”
