Friends of LOGS

Welcome one and all.

I’m so thrilled to have joined the PTA at this exciting time of transition – as we unveil our new name, “Friends of LOGS” and our new logo. Grateful thanks to parents, James and Amy Bell at Michael Bell, for our logo design.

A Community For All
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, pupil or alumni, Friends of LOGS is everyone’s PTA. We want to strengthen the sense of community across the whole school, giving parents, old and new and from all year groups, the chance to meet each other and socialise.

We’re pulling together a calendar of activities for 2019/20 which will, broadly, cover:

  • Parents – social events to meet each other and resources to support parenting in the modern world.
  • Teachers – support, tools and resources to help you do your job and the children to thrive.
  • Pupils – inspirational speakers, health and nutrition, enterprising opportunities, supporting the community
  • Community – collaboration, fundraising and volunteering

Fundraising
Throughout the year our events and activities raise considerable funds. We use a portion of this income on improving facilities and resources for the school, and will continue to invest in this way

Giving
The PTA has also always been focused on giving and over the years we have supported many local causes. This desire to do good in the community fits our ethos and we’re proud that our pupils often carry out their own fundraising for causes close to their hearts. Going forward, Friends of LOGS will nominate a small number of charities for the academic year, to which a portion of funds raised will be donated and with which we will work strategically.

We invite parents, children and staff to nominate a local charity/charities which they would particularly like us to support in the next academic year – please email your suggestions to me.

Getting Involved with Friends of LOGS
Friends of LOGS is all about bringing people together, inspiring our pupils, supporting our staff and enriching lives. As with anything, it’s always way more fun when lots of people get behind it. We arrange fantastic social events and we urge you to come along, rally a group of friends and join in the fun. You’re also warmly invited to join us in the pub for a planning session. We’d love to welcome you and value any help you can give.

Please email me if you’d like to get involved.

I look forward to seeing you at our next Friends of LOGS event.

Best wishes,

Robin
