Thousands raised as pupils take on 4K run

LOGS pupils have raised a fabulous £5546 after running the 4k Race for Life in April.

Every year the PE department organizes the run in Lewes to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, which sees students running in rain or shine as they represent their houses.

The weather was unkind to some this year, with rain battering runners as they battled the course. But it did not deter them!

Parents, grandparents and carers kindly donated to a Just Giving page set up by the PE department which is delighted to see such a healthy amount raised.

Said Head of PE Mr Heywood: “Well, year 7s got the short end of the stick this year with atrocious weather but they were brilliant and powered through it! Every runner did us proud, though, and we have raised a fantastic amount to give to Cancer Research. We even had one pupil, Year 7’s Elliot Neish, who did his run in Sydney Australia! His family were going on holiday and he did not want to miss the run so did it in central Sydney, near the Sydney Opera House! Well done everyone, including family and friends who sponsored so generously.”

THE WINNERS
Year 7: Louis Stokes and Izel Poon Wai Wam
Year 8: Milo Clarke and Olive Greenwood
Year 9: Ava James and Boris Greenwood
Year 10: Finn Rham and Daisy McDonald
