Year 10 dancers celebrate award success

Eight Year 10 students were celebrating this week after all passing their Bronze Arts Awards.

Chanel Pritchard, May Andrews, Sylvie Butterworth, Olivia Potter, Stella Stevens, Kitty LP Robinson, Mia Battle and Mia Glanvill started work for the award in Year 9 but due to the pandemic and restrictions surrounding events they have only just now completed their project with an online moderation completing the tasks.

To complete their award they had to take part in arts practice, for example in their dance classes at school, research and write about their arts inspiration, attend a live event or watch something online and then share something with their peers. Many taught something within their dance class last year or to a family member at home.

The Bronze Arts Award is part of the arts award programme offered by Trinity College.

Teacher Jess Lloyd said: “I am so delighted for the students to have achieved this. They have shown such perseverance and patience in very difficult times and they deserve this well-earnt success.”
