The NSEA Championships held in Bedfordshire is where individuals and teams from throughout the UK represent their school competing in show jumping, eventing and dressage.
The LOGS Equestrian team of Frankie Walker, Ruby Norman, Rhianna Hawkins and Lily Taylor-Martin, with Isla Norman as a reserve and head groom, qualified for the finals of the show jumping section of the Championships by finishing in 2nd place in a qualifier competition held in Felbridge in October.
The Championships were run over 4 days with a warm-up event the day before. Considering the horses had been travelling for 6 hours in two horse lorries that day, they all performed brilliantly, with 3 clear rounds from Frankie, Lily and Ruby and Rhianna having one pole down. Out of a total of 80 competitors, our top placing was Lily on her pony Dipsy finishing in an impressive 15th place. This was Dipsy’s last competition before being retired and so it was a fitting end to his amazing career.
The show jumping finals of these championships included classes at jump heights from 75cm to 1.2m. 74 schools were represented in the class we were competing in. Having qualified at 85cm the finals meant the jumps were now raised to 90cm!
Each of the 4 team members performed well with Rhianna completing a superb clear, fast round and Frankie and Ruby having just 4 jumping faults each. The girls competed against other schools such as Charter House, Stonar School, Cranleigh, Millfield, Felsted School and many more.
Although our team were not placed in this final, qualifying for these prestigious Championships was an amazing first-time achievement and we should be very proud of our School’s Equestrian Team. They are competing again this weekend in a qualifier for Windsor and we wish them every success!

Excellent GCSE results at LOGS LOGS students have achieved an excellent set of GCSE results under the reformed assessment system. The pass rate (Grade 4 and above) was 94%, and close to 40% of all grades were at 7 or above.
