Thousands raised as pupils take on 4K run

LOGS pupils have raised a whopping £7146 after running the 4k Race for Life this summer term.

Every year the PE department organize the run in Lewes to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, which sees students running in rain or shine as they represent their houses. Parents, grandparents and carers kindly donated to a Just Giving page set up by the PE department who were stunned and delighted to see such a healthy amount raised.

Winners were: Lila Meiland, Megan Lang and Tom Barry from Year 7; Ava James and Billy McKay from Year 8,  Daisy McDonald and Fin Stokes from Year 9; and Sophie Packham and Oscar Swindells from Year 10.

Head of PE Mr Heywood: “It was a real collective effort, with four year groups running over four days and they did remarkably well considering year 9s ran in the pouring rain while Year 8s did it in pretty much a heatwave! It was just brilliant to see everyone taking part after last year when sadly we could not do it. And to have raised more than £7000 is a wonderful achievement. Thank you to all those who took part and all those who sponsored them.”
