LOGS athletes excel at regional ISA event

LOGS athletes put in a fantastic performance at the regional Independent Schools Association athletics event in South London recently, with 23 qualifying for the national finals (some in multiple events) on June 13 in Manchester. 

Pupils were competing against children from other independent schools across the southeast and had the opportunity to compete in both track and field events as well as the 4x100m relay. 

The following will be competing in Manchester:

Year 7
Izel Poon Wai Wam- 1500m 6min 56s and relay
Lydia Demetriou-McCallum - relay
Maya Bray – long jump – 4.41m and relay
Emma Turko - 800m - 3min 7sec and relay
Jude Mckay - relay and 1500m – 5min 24s
Miles Carrington – shot – 6.58m, relay
Louis Stokes - relay and 800m – 2min 34s
Eli Burns-King - relay, 100m – 13.36s , javelin - 23.67m and discus 18.33m

Year 8 and 9
Billy Mckay - 1500m – 4min 50s
Ben Tamplin – triple jump – 11.8m
Zac Reeve – discus – 26.04, 300m – 40.21s, shot – 9.71m
Ava James - 800m – 2min 20s and relay
Ava James, Pippa Stoneham, Charlie Connell, Ava Mckenzie - Relay

Year 10 and 11
Hemi Salvage-Page – triple jump – 7.7m , shot – 5.33m , discus – 15.14m, relay
Evelyn Dzogan - relay
Rosie Kornevall - 200m – 26s , 300m, long jump – 4.1m and relay
Stan Bray - shot – 10.57m
Adam Alexander – 400m – 58.46s
Daisy Macdonald - relay
Jamie Peasgood – triple jump – 11m
Finn Rahm- 1500m – 5min 11s
George Stone - 800m – 2min 21s

PE teacher Mr Sperring said: “For so many to go through to the nationals is an unbelievable achievement. All pupils represented the school in a spectacular fashion and we wish all those that went through the best of luck in June.
